By using NeighborSTAND, you agree to these terms. NeighborSTAND is operated by BlackUnited. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

NeighborSTAND is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing in this app — including anything Stan says, anything in the Learn section, or your case timeline — is a legal conclusion about your specific situation. Using NeighborSTAND does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone. For advice about your specific case, connect with a real legal aid organization or attorney through our Resources directory.

All legal and procedural content in this app requires attorney review before we treat it as final. Until that review is complete, treat all such content as a good-faith, informational draft.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Provide accurate information when setting up your case — Stan and your timeline are only as useful as what you tell us.

Don't use NeighborSTAND to impersonate someone else, submit fraudulent information, abuse the review or business-listing systems, attempt to access another user's data, or interfere with the service's normal operation.

Stan is an AI assistant, not a person and not a lawyer. It always identifies itself as AI and never states a legal conclusion as fact about your situation. Stan's answers are informational, and you should confirm anything important with a real advocate before acting on it.

If you leave a review of a resource, you're representing that it reflects your genuine experience. Reviews are shown anonymously to other users, but we do retain enough information internally to moderate abuse, and we may reject, remove, or — in cases of repeated abuse — block an account from submitting further reviews. Sponsorship never buys different treatment: a paid listing has no ability to suppress, edit, or get preferential treatment for reviews on its own page.

You can delete any review you've written at any time.

Some resources in our directory are paid, sponsored placements — always clearly labeled as "Sponsored." Others are donated goodwill offers from local businesses — labeled "Community Goodwill" — which are gifts, not advertising, and never require you to prove hardship to use.

A property can never be advertised to you if it's the one your open case is at. This is checked against your case's actual address, not just the advertiser's name, and applies regardless of how much a sponsor has paid.

NeighborSTAND is free to use. If that ever changes for any part of the service, we'll tell you clearly before you're asked to pay anything.

The NeighborSTAND name, design, and original content are owned by BlackUnited. You retain ownership of anything you submit (documents, reviews, case information), and grant us the limited right to use it to operate the service for you — for example, showing your own uploaded documents back to you, or displaying your review to other users.

NeighborSTAND is provided "as is." We work hard to keep case timelines, resource information, and Stan's answers accurate, but we can't guarantee they're error-free or that following them leads to any particular legal outcome. To the fullest extent the law allows, BlackUnited isn't liable for outcomes in your eviction case or decisions you make based on information in this app.

You can stop using NeighborSTAND and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, including repeated abuse of the review system.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and make a reasonable effort to let you know in the app.
